What is "the Faith?"


The Faith is the way of salvation, the way of life, and the truth that comes through Jesus Christ.  “The Faith” is not the same as a personal belief although it can be personally believed because of the evidence on which it is based. The Faith is detailed in God's Word - the Bible.  Here are some things we know about the Faith from God's Word.



The Faith comes through Jesus Christ and makes people well (Acts 3:16)


The Faith is a free gift from God (1 Tim 1:14) 


The Faith has value for God's chosen people (Titus 1:1)  


The promise of being forgiven and accepted by God is guaranteed by the Faith (Rom 4:16)


The Faith unifies people by joining them together (Eph 4:13)


The Faith creates relationships (1 Tim 1:2)


There is love in the Faith (Titus 3:15)


There is joy in the Faith (Phil 1:25)


People who are firm in the Faith suffer (1 Pet 5:9) 


The Faith is truth and it shows people what is right (1 Tim 3:9)


The Faith is taught to people (Col 2:7)


Children need to learn the Faith as they grow up (1 Tim 4:6)


The Faith can be preached (Gal 1:23)


The Faith explains the good news about Jesus Christ (Phil 1:27)


People can turn away from the Faith (Mat 24:10)


People try to turn other people from the Faith (Acts 13:8)


Some people leave the Faith because they love money (1 Tim 6:10)


False knowledge causes people to turn away from the Faith (1 Tim 6:20-21)


Satan teaches people so they will stop following the Faith (1 Tim 4:1)


The Faith identifies those who are rejected by God (2 Tim 3:8)


People can choose to obey the Faith (Acts 6:7)


A man accepts the Faith if he obeys it by providing for his family (1 Tim 5:8)


People must remain true to the Faith (Acts 14:22)  


People can stay true to the Faith (2 Tim 4:7)


Jesus provides the reason for people to stay strong in the Faith (Heb 4:14)


Staying strong in the Faith requires effort (1 Tim 6:12)


People must be corrected to stay strong in the Faith (Titus 1:13)


People must test themselves to make sure they are living by the Faith (2 Cor 13:5)


Staying firm in the Faith requires strength, courage, and careful attention (1 Cor 16:13)


The church (Christian people) must be made strong in the Faith to grow in numbers and in spirit (Acts 16:5)


People must fight hard for The Faith (Jude 1:3)
